I thought, today, of how my mind often resets to pre-enlightenment mode (that is personal, spiritual enlightenment, not the historical Enlightenment) whereby God holds no place in the world. The affairs of Men, our wars, diseases, politics, the daily toil, and general state of things, crowd God out. He is an old man attempting to pry into the affairs of his sons, all modern men of industry and intellect whose troubles are too lofty for their father to grasp at in his finite and antiquated wisdom.
None of this is conscious, mind you, until I am already on the way out of that dripping cave and into the light of illuminated Reality.
That reality is this: God is above, under, in and around. He\’s everywhere and he\’s better than everything.
